CookShop for Adults Manager
The purpose of this position is to manage a large community based nutrition education program (CookShop for Adults), including recruitment, training, evaluation and technical support.
Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment of schools and community based organizations as host sites for the CookShop for Adults program; Overseeing, coordinating, and facilitating Workshop Leader Trainings and off-site continuing education for the CookShop for Adults Program; Collaborating with volunteer department in training and assigning volunteers to participating organizations; Facilitating program implementation, monitoring program compliance to ensure that the program meets annual goals and assist with submission of grant reports; Overseeing printed materials, and educational materials selection and ordering; Providing input and content a quarterly newsletter for teachers, workshop leaders and volunteers; Collaborating in the revision of all curriculum materials and implementation of evaluation activities; Overseeing the selection, testing and standardization of recipes; Supervising any assigned staff.
Qualifications: MSW and 2–3 years experience in nutrition, culinary education, public health, health education or related field required; Train-the-trainer and group facilitation experience required; Enthusiasm for cooking required; recipe development and testing experience a plus; Detail-oriented with excellent administrative, organizational, networking and project coordination skills; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.

Public Education Manager
The purpose of this position is to develop education materials relating to nutrition programs, including content for targeted print and online materials, meetings, presentations and trainings.
Responsibilities include coordinating with Research, Education & Nutrition and Communications staff to write, design and publish public education and training materials; Participating in and assisting with the development and evaluation of presentations and trainings for educators, program leaders and program participants; Translating evaluation, research and curriculum materials for use in general information and education materials, reports and other publications; Facilitating the engagement of nutrition education audiences in the development of relevant content for various education initiatives.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred), with three to five years experience in education, nutrition, public health or similar field; Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience with public speaking and training facilitation required; Ability and enthusiasm for working and communicating with diverse populations required; Excellent administrative and organizational skills; Aptitude for project management and attention to detail required; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required. Experience with Quark or other publishing software a plus; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages strongly preferred.

Evaluation Manager
The purpose of this position is to manage program evaluation initiatives and produce program monitoring reports and needs assessments to guide program implementation, enhancement, and expansion and to measure outcomes
Responsibilities include managing and implementing program evaluation and monitoring initiatives including developing methodologies and evaluation tools; Conducting surveys and interviews; Conducting data collection and analysis ensuring findings are reliable and valid; Coordinating data collection activities with partner agencies; Training staff in the use of evaluation tools and protocol; Overseeing the development and management of databases ensuring accuracy of data; Analyzing internal program data and produce regular reports monitoring program activities, outputs and participant information to ensure proper program implementation and inform partners and funding agencies; Analyzing program outcomes and conduct needs assessments to guide program implementation, enhancement and expansion strategies and to document efficacy; Drafting reports, proposals and presentations including preparation of spreadsheets, charts, tables and maps; Supervising the work of any assigned staff and interns.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred) in research, public administration, public policy or equivalent; Two to three years experience with program evaluation, primary data collection and database management, preferably in the area of poverty; Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research with strong attention to detail; Personnel and project management experience required; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency in all MS office applications (including Excel and Access) as well as experience with SPSS and ArcGIS software; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Ideal candidate will be a flexible, organized, deadline-focused reliable team player with a collegial and professional manner and the ability to handle pressure well; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.

Youth Development Manager
The purpose of this job is to provide management, direction and growth for youth development and nutrition-education programming, primarily in the public school setting for high-school age youth.
Responsibilities include implementing and refining programs for educating, engaging and organizing youth around food and nutrition issues; Building relationships with schools and community-based organizations to promote expansion of these programs; Overseeing the planning and daily operation of youth development and nutrition-education programming, including recruitment of schools and individual high school students for internships and high school-based chapters; Creating and overseeing recruitment plan for youth summer internship program, including contact with guidance counselors and youth organizations, interviews and selection of participants; Overseeing the planning of in-house trainings and quarterly meetings, including development of educational materials, presentations and training of internal staff; Leading in-house trainings and supervising nutrition- and garden-education workshops in various schools and community-based organizations; Networking with public schools and organizations and maintain and expand collaborative relationships; Working with Research & Evaluation staff and Public Education Manager to revise and further develop relevant curricula and public education materials; Training and supervising staff/interns.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in public health/policy, organizing or related field; Three to five years experience with youth development/organizing high-school aged youth or related field required; Self-starter with proven management skills and the ability to work independently, coordinate projects, trouble-shoot and provide leadership; Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in public speaking and group facilitation; Must be able to establish priorities and a course of action for handling multiple tasks; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required; Experience with Quark or other publishing software a plus; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.

CookShop for Adults Coordinator
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the planning and daily implementation of nutrition education workshops for adults in multiple community based organizations including emergency food organizations and senior centers.
Responsibilities include facilitating the recruitment of community based organizations for hosting adult and senior nutrition education programs; Coordinating the implementation of and facilitate interactive nutrition education workshops to groups of participants in various community based organizations; plan and organize field trips to multiple locations such as farmers markets, city farms, community gardens and food stores; Overseeing program implementation and monitor staff and community based organization compliance. Provide onsite technical assistance and training as needed and coordinate delivery of all program materials to multiple sites; Documenting program activities and participate in applicable assessment and evaluation activities as required; Assisting in developing, coordinating and facilitating all aspects of training, continuing education, technical support and program maintenance and coordination of volunteers/interns; Supervising any assigned staff.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in health or nutrition education or similar field and Registered Dietician or Certified Health Education Specialist certification required (MSW a plus); Two years experience in project coordination, nutrition and/or culinary education, public health or health education; Excellent administrative, organizational and project coordination skills; Attention to detail and experience with public speaking and training facilitation required; Willingness to travel within New York City and ability and enthusiasm for working and communicating with diverse populations required; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.

Plant Education Coordinator
The purpose of this position is to oversee the daily operation of and development of a gardening-based nutrition education program including recruitment, training and formalization of gardening/farming lessons.
Responsibilities include supporting the delivery of garden/farm-based lessons to classrooms in participating elementary school classrooms; Overseeing the recruitment of participating schools and training of teachers and other classroom staff; Participating in the review and evaluation and subsequent revision/formalization of the farm-based lessons including evaluating learning goals, editing, testing and refinement of assessment tools; Maintaining detailed documentation of lesson implementation and assessment; Coordinating and/or facilitate focus groups and other evaluation activities with relevant teachers and student groups; Supervising any assigned staff.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two to three years teaching/training experience required and experience conducting garden and/or nutrition education workshops preferred; Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills; Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy a plus; Proficiency in all MS office applications required; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.

Research Associate
The primary purpose of this position is to further the research capacity of the Food Bank. The Research Associate is responsible for assisting the Director of Research & Evaluation on all aspects of ongoing and future research and evaluation efforts including conducting background research, literature reviews, fieldwork, survey distribution and data entry.
Responsibilities include: Assisting in all aspects of primary research projects including survey distribution, fieldwork, data collection, data entry and analysis; Conducting literature reviews and copyedit reports on hunger, poverty and related issues, including formatting documents, charts, tables and maps; Coordinating the design, layout and printing of publications and reports; Maintaining all research files including a research reference library, census information, survey data, updated program statistics and geopolitical data; Assisting in coordinating research advisory committee meetings and events including managing participant registration, event logistics, summary of notes and follow-up; Performing other duties as required.
Qualifications: BA, BS in social services, public administration or public policy-related work; Excellent organizational skills with experience conducting primary research (whether through school or professional work experience); Proficiency with all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access); Experience with SPSS or similar data analysis software strongly preferred; familiarity with ArcGIS software a plus; Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy preferred; Ideal candidate will be a flexible, organized, deadline-focused reliable team player with a collegial and professional manner and the ability to handle pressure well; Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages a plus.
